Homes for Sale in Mission Dolores, San Francisco, CA

Mission Dolores is the easternmost neighborhood of the Eureka Valley district southwest of the Downtown District of San Francisco, California. The neighborhood got its name from the long-standing church that serves as the primary landmark of the community. The Mission San Francisco De Asis is the oldest surviving structure in the city, surviving war, floods, earthquakes, and other natural disasters. The church was founded on October 9, 1776, by Francisco Palou and Pedro Benito Cambon, who were both members of the de Anza Expedition. The church helped settle Spanish settlers in Upper California and was focused on converting the local population. Today, the church still serves as a Catholic institution regular Sunday mass and other church-related activities.

Residential Real Estate in Mission Dolores, similar to other sub-neighborhoods in the Eureka Valley, is primarily suburban in nature. These original homes feature the classic Victorian or Edwardian designs, with more modern contemporary designs showing up in the middle to late 20th century. The southern portion of Mission Dolores still retains many of these home styles providing ample options for a comfortable single-family home in San Francisco. There has been significant redevelopment in the suburb as the city grew and developed from its early industrial roots. With demand for real estate, rising apartment buildings and condos became a practical solution, which is a fantastic addition, especially in neighborhoods close to the city center. Multi-family residential units are readily available in the northern part of the neighborhood.
